We believe in the Holy Spirit, His personality, and His work
in
creation, inspiration of the Scriptures, and in our regeneration, sanctification, and
preservation.
lWe believe at the time of salvation each believer is baptized by Christ
through the Holy Spirit
into the body of Christ, sealed for eternity, and changed into a
new person.
We believe in one God, Creator, and Sustainer of all things, eternally
existed in
three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that these three are all equally
and fully God, and
carry out distinct but harmonious functions in the work of creation,
providence, and salvation.
We believe God created man, male and female, with a body, soul/spirit in the
image of
God and free from sin. We also believe man is a sinner by nature and choice
and is therefore
spiritually dead until he repents of his sin, trusts Christ personally as
his Savior, and is
regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
We believe a person is saved by grace through personal faith in Jesus
Christ.
lWe also believe this salvation lasts forever and is based upon the sovereign
grace of God,
was purchased by the shed blood of Christ on the cross, and must be
received individually
through faith in Christ apart from any human merit, works, or
rituals.
We believe the universal Church is a spiritual body of which Christ
is
the
Head. We believe the true Church is composed of all persons who through
personal faith in
Jesus Christ have been made spiritually alive by the Holy Spirit
and been forgiven of their sin.
We believe God's Word is to be the
Christian's
guide for thoughts, actions, and attitudes and that God is the only true
source for our ultimate
satisfaction and personal happiness.
We believe God ordained the family as the foundational institution
for the
physical, spiritual, and emotional growth of individuals, the church, and the
society. It is to be
ideally led by a godly father and mother joined together in holy
marriage. We believe God
indended for a man and woman to leave their parents
and to become husband and wife,
intimate in body, soul/spirit, forming a sacred
and lifelong commitment to each other. |
