The praise team leads the musical portion of our worship each Sunday morning. There are a
number of teams that serve on a rotating schedule, and each team includes both instrumental
and vocal musicians. Attendance at two rehearsals (prior to the Sunday of participation) is
required. An audition process is required to serve on this team.
Lighting is a critical component of each service since our multi-media and drama emphasis requires
many different options. The lighting team uses a rotating system of involvement and, depending on
the event, may be required to attend rehearsals and do some set-up work. Some experience is
helpful, but not mandatory.
The use of visual imaging is a centerpiece of most presentations since we live in a very visual
society today. The media team works each week on putting outlines, visuals,
and video together
for presentation in most services. People on this team should have some computer
experience,
but may be trained to learn some of the more particular parts of the tasks.
Our Sound Team coordinates the set-up and utilization of microphones, monitors, and sound boards
for all Sunday services and special events. Each participant will have at least one Sunday per
month for which he/she is responsible, which includes early rehearsals, pre-service consultations,
and taking down equipment following events. Participants should have some aptitude for running
pro-audio equipment, listening for musical and sound distinctions, and the ability to work with a
variety of people.
Our Worship Planning Team meets every week to plan, prepare, and evaluate each Sunday morning
service. Each member, including the teaching pastor for upcoming messages, contributes to the
final product with their varying abilities and expertise. We encourage creative thinking and use our
life expereriences to help craft worship elements that bring us into the presence of God.
A subset of the worship planning team is our Sunday morning service directors. Each week a
director is assigned to oversee all the logistical details of the Sunday morning service. The
director will be the laison of communication for the teaching pastor, worship leader, and tech
leaders throughout the morning. This serving role requires organizational, communicative and
problem solving skills to assist the team during the pace of the morning's activities.
Drama is a key part of our communication of the Gospel at Grace. A Drama Team made up largely
of non-professional actors prepares sketches and full-scale plays to highlight and illustrate the
themes and
truths being presented in our services and special events. The team rehearses as
needed when
a particular work is being prepared. Some experience is helpful, but not necessary.
This team serves in creating the overall look and decor for our stage, Worship Center and
Welcome Center ares. Additional projects are initiated throughout the year for special events,
message sereis visuals, and to support the visual appeal to our Christmas and Easter programming.
Similar to the Praise Team, the Worship Choir leads the musical portion of our worship during
Sunday morning. The Worship Choir comes together 4-6 times throughout the year, which appeals
to vocalists who are not able to serve on a monthly basis and prefer a large group setting.
The serving role for this team is to video record our Sunday morning services, and to take
leadership of other video needs such as baptisms, special events, etc. This team would also
assist in creating videos to help communicate the theme of the Sunday morning message.
Photography is also needed
to help support our media team and to capture images from Sunday
morning gatherings and
special events.
