Laura Bice
Worship Arts Coordinator
Laura joined the Grace staff in February of 2004. She
oversees the various aspects of the Worship Arts
Ministry
at Grace including the praise band, tech
arts, drama,
and worship
planning teams. Her
goal is to create a heartfelt worship experience each
week that will draw those who are looking for God
and deepen the faith of believers into meaningful
participation and worship of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The creative arts are one of the greatest gifts that
God has given us. Music, for example, is such a
large part of our relationship with God. For Laura,
worship
music brings her into God's presence like
nothing else.
Laura loves music. In fact, she can hardly remember a time when
music wasn't a big part of her life. God has
provided music to be used in Laura's life for worship,
celebration, and during times of trial and healing.
She
also loves being involved in the creative development
of projects – thinking through the "big ideas" then
crafting and shaping them into something that will be
meaningful to others.
A University of Illinois graduate in the College of
Communications, Laura's vocational focus prior to
joining the Grace staff has been in sales, marketing,
and consulting primarily with telecommunications and
television/radio media organizations.
Laura and her husband Don have four children and
enjoy spending time together whether it is playing music,
time outdoors, or watching some favorite sports
teams – Cubs, Packers, and of course the Fighting Illini.
One of Laura's favorite Bible passages communicates
the
joy of worship in our lives: "Sing joyfully to the Lord,
you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.
Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to Him on the
ten-stringed lyre. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully,
and shout for joy. For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.” (Psalm 33:1-4)
