Michelle Loutrel
PreSchool Children's Coordinator
As coordinator of the preschool ministry, Michelle
organizes the volunteers and curriculum for
PromiseTowne, our Sunday morning program. She
also manages the curriculum for our Sunday morning
elementary ministry, Planet 252.
Michelle is very passionate about teaching children
about God's love. She strives to find ways to make
God's Word meaningful and relevant to children, and
believes that it is vital to partner with parents to reach
children. One of her favorite ministry activities is telling
the Bible story and leading children in worship.
Prior to coming on staff in June of 2006, Michelle was
a volunteer in children's ministry for several years.
She
has also worked as a day care provider and in
management. She is currently a full-time college student
working on a degree in organizational management – a
step toward her ultimate goal of one day writing
curriculum for children's ministry.
Michelle and her husband Lou (not the Lou Loutrel
on staff) have three sons – Chris, Andy, and David.
As a family, they enjoy sailing, spending time outdoors,
playing games, and, of course, laughing.
Her favorite verse? There are numerous verses that
speak to her, but the one that stands out time and time
again is Psalm 46:10 – "Be still and know that I am God."
Maybe the verse is significant because (as she says)
it's hard for her to sit
still, and it serves as her reminder
not to get in
God's way. He has everything under control.
